Creativity resides inherently within every individual. Many of us have become adept at stifling this innate gift. Those who nurture their creative tendencies lead lives with greater happiness and fulfillment. I will share my personal odyssey into creativity and the lessons I learned along the way. Participants will gain new understanding into how to use their creative gifts in life and in the workplace to enhance teamwork and productivity. Team exercises will inspire individuals to discover their own creativity through group support and feedback.

This workshop will help you think outside of the box through fun and exciting beat exploration. In this upbeat workshop, participants will use simple percussion instruments and drums to unite together through musical exploration using different rhythm styles to stimulate new ideas. Participants will quickly learn basic rudiments of rhythm and beat and by the end of the class, they will work as a team to create their own rhythms and perform for the group.

Writing a song will prove to be a great way for your team to brainstorm in a new way, reach new levels of cooperation, and find ways to express thoughts and ideas in a concise, clear way. Your team will be expertly guided to come up with the song idea and create lyrics for their song. The song will be set to music and performed. Any members from the team who want to participate in the performance will be invited while the audience enjoys hearing their creative work in real time. A copy of the song will be your take-away memory of this fun and engaging experience.

Drumming is one of the earliest forms of musical community. Drumming in unison is a powerful way to experience group energy. This informal, collaborative setting is all about participation, not perfection. After learning basic principles of beat and rhythm, players learn to listen to others and participate as the heartbeat, embellishment, or lead. This experience fosters a positive group dynamic that will energize and inspire every participant.

This experience will foster new listening skills to enhance communication and refine listening. Using music of different genres, the group will be guided to listen for different elements in the music and explore how these elements influence the listener and draw the listener in emotionally. This fun exploration of music’s instrumentation and form will not only deepen your team’s enjoyment of music listening but inspire them to listen more deeply to the world around them.

Your team will paint a group mural that will stimulate your teams’ creative juices as they listen to live music. The combination of the live music and creating a piece of art will be an experience your team will never forget. Teams will choose from a selection of group mural ideas that coincide with a musical theme and then execute together while being inspired by the live music. The art will be a great memory of our day together.

The modern daily work environment can create tension and stress on a daily basis. This experience will guide your team through a healing and relaxing experience that will leave them feeling invigorated and renewed. Through the sound and vibration of live piano combined with a guided yoga class or meditation, your team will have a one-of-a-kind wellness experience. They will return to the workplace with more ease and balance.

To improvise is to create or perform spontaneously or without preparation. Conversation is an example of how we improvise in our daily lives. Participants will explore improvisation through music, writing, and speaking. Every member of the group will have an opportunity to improvise in a way that feels authentic to them with support from their team. Teams will play music (no experience required), write short narratives, and improvise conversations with their groups. Teams will learn to be flexible, spontaneous and creative.
