About Us
Wendi Kirby is a classically trained pianist, composer and educator.
Wendi Kirby has been a dedicated music educator for over 30 years. She began her musical journey at the age of five, and by fourteen, she was already imparting her knowledge to her first students. Wendi pursued piano performance under the tutelage of Frank Wiens at the University of the Pacific and earned the ARCT degree in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Throughout her career, Wendi has held several significant leadership roles in music education. She served as President of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers, a state affiliate of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Additionally, she has been a Founding Teacher, Founding School, and Center Representative for the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her exemplary contributions to the field were recognized with the prestigious MTNA Foundation Fellow Award and the Steinway Top Teacher Award in 2021.
Wendi has enriched the lives of countless children and adults through her private music school, Wendi Kirby Music LLC in Monterey, and her role as the Music Director for the Lower Division at Stevenson School.
Expanding her reach as a composer and performing artist, Wendi's music is now enjoyed by audiences worldwide. Her debut album, Bloom, was released by the UK record label Pastiche Records in April 2023. Her second album, Wings, recorded at London’s renowned Eastcote Studios—where artists like Adele, Mumford & Sons, and Yusef/Cat Stevens have also recorded—was released in February 2024. Wendi continues to perform in the US and Europe, sharing her passion for music with diverse audiences.
