Wendi Kirby is a classically trained pianist, composer and educator.

Wendi started playing piano at age 5, and teaching her first students at age 14. She studied piano performance with Frank Wiens at the University of the Pacific, as well as earning the ARCT degree in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music.  

Wendi has served in many leadership roles in music education including President of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (state affiliate of Music Teachers National), and Founding Teacher, Founding School, and Center Representative for the Royal Conservatory of Music. She was awarded the prestigious Music Teachers National Association, Foundation Fellow Award and Steinway Top Teacher Award in 2021.  

Wendi has brought music to the lives of hundreds of children and adults through her private music school (Wendi Kirby Music open August 2023 in Monterey) and as the Music Director for Stevenson School, Lower Division.  

Wendi’s music is now reaching audiences throughout the world as she shares her passion as a composer and performing artist.

Wendi’s debut album Bloom was released via UK record label Pastiche Records. She is recording her second album in London’s legendary Eastcote Studios in September 2023 where Adele, Mumford & Sons, and Yusef/Cat Stevens also recorded. Wendi has performed in some of London’s leading music venues (Pizza Express Jazz Club, Soho + the 606 Club) and is performing her new material in a special concert on March 16th, 2024 at Wendi Kirby Music in Monterey, CA in a double album launch with her producer, singer-songwriter Sarah Gillespie.
