Baroque & Unknown
Night Two: Where Are Our Creative Social Circles?
Featuring: Charissa Noble, Musicologist, San Diego State University
What if a music history lesson felt like a cocktail party? Join us for the second night of the Baroque & Unknown series, a unique music community initiative highlighting the lives and music of unknown women composers of the Baroque era.
Where do creative minds gather, and how do social circles shape the arts? On Thursday, October 17th, join us for the second night of the Baroque & Unknown series as we dive into the rich social worlds of two extraordinary women composers: Barbara Strozzi and Leonora Duarte.
The evening will feel like an Artist salon. Charissa Noble, a Musicologist from San Diego State University, will guide us through the intriguing question: What happens when we decentralize the composer and recognize the inherently social nature of music?
A roster of Special Guest performers from The Creative Voice and Wendi Kirby Music, will fill this evening as we highlight the vocal music of Barbara Strozzi, a Venetian composer and student of Cavalli. You’ll also have access to food and beverage tastings from Uncle Nearest and Chic Charcuterique. This isn't just a concert, it's a deep dive into the social dynamics that foster creativity. Seating is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot early.
