George Woods
Singer-Songwriter
If you like melodies that dance, and tap you on the shoulder when you’re lonely. If you like lyrics that slide through your ears and drench your brain, but you also like to shake your ass and scream at the ceiling, then look no further than a George Woods concert.
On February 29th, George will be performing a solo acoustic concert at Wendi Kirby Music on Hartnell Street in Monterey. Attendees can expect to find a seasoned performer, with a near-familial stage presence, who boils down to a bubbling mixture of deep thoughts and dad jokes.
George is currently a Professor of Songwriting at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he spent the last 18 years. Since moving to Monterey with his family, George has founded the Monterey Song School, which offers individual and group instruction in all things music, but focuses its curriculum towards creating original compositions. The Monterey Song School will be partnering with Wendi Kirby Music to offer its first in person sessions of Songcrafting 101 in the very near future. The show starts at 7pm. Bring yourself, bring your ears, and leave with a head full of stories and good times.
